About Caitlin Blair, LCSW

Therapist in California for Holistic & Culturally Attuned Psychotherapy

Caitlin Blair, Licensed Clinical Social Worker , an Asian American therapist, smiling gently in a calm, forest-inspired space.

The first step toward healing is feeling connected.

You might be:

  • Carrying the weight of expectations from others while quietly feeling overwhelmed

  • Achieving on the outside but anxious, burned out, or uncertain about what’s right for you

  • Struggling to balance who you are with where you come from, and how you’ve been taught to cope

If that feels familiar, you’re in the right place. Therapy should be a space where your experiences are seen, your culture matters, and your inner world is respected. I want us to feel connected and you to be understood in your lived experience.

I’ve always been curious about how our stories about family, culture, and the spaces we grow up in, shape the way we see ourselves. As a multiethnic Chinese American woman and daughter of an immigrant, I know what it’s like to feel caught between worlds, trying to meet everyone else’s expectations while wondering if you’re enough.

Before becoming a therapist, I was often the “go-to” person, the one who had it together and cared for everyone else. On the inside, I was anxious, overthinking, and unsure how to make space for myself without guilt. My own therapy journey helped me reconnect with what I truly wanted, and inspired me to help others do the same.

For over a decade, I’ve worked with teens, adults, and couples —many from AAPI, mixed-race, or multicultural backgrounds— supporting clients navigating anxiety, burnout, perfectionism, and cultural pressures. In my practice, I offer culturally attuned, holistic therapy, creating a space to bring your full self, reflect on what’s weighing on you, and find balance, clarity, and a life that feels authentically yours.

These days, I live in California with my partner and our dog. I believe growth often happens in small moments, quiet rituals, and gradual habits that create an authentic life.

My approach is holistic, culturally attuned, & relational.

That means:

  • I help you identify what’s weighing on you and why

  • I support you in building sustainable balance instead of just coping

  • I honor your background, your culture, and your identity as part of who you are

  • I show up as real human during sessions and genuinely want to know who you are.

01

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy
I use Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy to help clients understand the different “parts” of themselves—including the ones that feel anxious, critical, overwhelmed, or stuck. Rather than trying to get rid of these parts, IFS helps us approach them with curiosity and compassion, so healing can happen from within. This gentle, evidence-based approach supports deeper self-understanding, emotional regulation, and lasting change.

03

Somatic Therapy
Somatic therapy helps you understand how stress, anxiety, or past experiences show up in your body (from tension and breath patterns to nervous system responses). By connecting sensations with meaning and awareness, somatic work supports grounding, regulation, and deeper emotional insight, integrating your physical and emotional experience in a safe, attuned way.

Outside of Sessions

When I’m not working, I love spending time with my dog and husband, going on hikes, and enjoying naps on the beach. I also have a passion for curating playlists for even the smallest of occasions, embracing seasonal activities, and discovering new boba spots. I love “grandma” hobbies like knitting, reading, & crafting, and am usually down to binge a comfort show on Netflix. I enjoy traveling and have spent time living abroad.
