My Therapeutic Approach

At Tiny Cottage Therapy, I hold space for the full complexity of your cultural identity. Whether you come from mixed heritage, grew up between cultures, or feel pulled in many directions, this work honors all parts of you. My approach is relational, culturally attuned, and grounded in both your lived experience and somatic practices.

I believe healing and integration happen when you feel seen, heard, and understood. Together, we’ll explore how your multiple identities are impact your sense of self—how they’ve shaped you, how they intersect with privilege & marginalization, and how you can tend to what feels fragmented or silenced.

Are These Struggles Familiar to You?

If you’ve ever wondered:

  • “Where do I belong?” Between cultures, between communities, between identities

  • “Do I betray part of myself when I adapt to fit in?” The weight of code-switching, people pleasing

  • “Why do I feel torn or lost when I try to honor my heritage?” Cultural disconnection, disapproval, or loss

  • “Why is being multiple cultures sometimes exhausting, especially socially or professionally?”

  • “What should I do vs. What does my family expect me to do?”

  • “Where do I come from vs. Where am I going?”

If yes, these are common and valid questions for many multicultural folks undertake. You are not alone.

What I Help With

In therapy, we can work together on:

  • Identity integration: helping you weave together different parts of your cultural self in a way that feels authentic and grounded.

  • Belonging & community: discovering or strengthening connection to heritage, community, and support.

  • Cultural grief & intergenerational trauma: honoring losses (of language, traditions, connection) and healing from ancestral or migration-based woundings.

  • Racial & historical trauma: from overt experiences of discrimination to subtler microaggressions; from what’s spoken aloud to what was passed down.

  • Code switching & social role fatigue: the emotional labor of shifting identity based on context, and learning to feel more like your authentic yourself.

  • Healing internal conflict: when parts of you are in tension and building internal coherence, self-compassion, and clarity.

  • Aligning your values and family values: Learning to filter what family expectations you authentically feel called to carry and those you feel obligated to.

Is This The Work For You?

You might be ready for this if you:

  • Long for clarity about who you are, beyond the labels and social constructs

  • Feel exhausted from having to adapt, hide, or perform across contexts

  • Carry grief for what feels lost or disconnected culturally

  • Find healing in reclaiming parts of your identity, heritage, or belonging

  • Want to cultivate a more grounded sense of self, community, & inner peace

  • Feel called to live more authentically and aligned with who you actually are, not just who others think you should be
